Why are we here?

The development and dramatic growth of social media has forever changed the way we communicate. It is incredibly easy to remain in contact with friends or reconnect with long list friends.  Social media has empowered  knowledge around the globe aiding in popular uprising in multiple countries. Domestically, Barack Obama's use of social media to win the presidency will have a lasting effect on the electoral process.

It comes with its problems like anything else and has its critics. My goal with this site,  in addition to just showing myself to vent frustration, is to combat the stupid unverified,  misleading,  fear mongering or just out right lies that so easily get shared on social media.

People have become to trusting of what they see on social media,  especially Facebook. Anytime some shares an image or quote people assume it's true,  like Zuckerberg and Company verify everything that is posted.  The worst part really is how easy it is to fact check. Google has changed the world it's too easy to verify. People don't want to they want the sensational stuff they see to be true to verify their world views. This compliancy allows racists,  fear mongers and bigots to discreetly spread their crap around the internet.

Instead of using my personal Facebook and filling everyone's feeds with long winded sarcastic rants I am opting to use this format. Allowing me to feed my desire to combat stupidity while being respectful to those who don't want to read political crap on Facebook.

I am not and do not claim to be an expert or the messiah,  but if you choose to use those titles for me I could understand. I am simply a sensible person with logic and the endless information available online doing what everyone should be doing but no one is. Together we can work on making the world, or at least a few people a little smarter.
